Preliminary results of the vote count in the presidential election to be conducted on Sunday 28 January will be published in the Result Service of the Ministry of Justice starting at 20.00 on election day.

During the evening of election day, the results will be updated as the vote count progresses. The data to be published in the Result Service includes the number and percentage of votes received by each candidate in the entire country and in each electoral district, municipality and voting district.

After this, the constituency electoral committee of Helsinki will confirm the number of votes cast for each candidate in the entire country and submit this information to the Ministry of Justice. The confirmed results will be published in the Result Service, and the Ministry of Justice will announce the final election result.

If none of the candidates receives more than half of the votes in the first round of the election, a second round will be conducted between the two candidates who received the most votes in the first round.

Once the vote count has been completed, the results will also be made available as downloadable CSV files for use by the media.
