Schedule in the European Elections

The next European elections will be held in all member states during the time period 6.–9.6.2024. In Finland, the election day is Sunday 9.6.

However, the Council of the European Union, acting unanimously and after consulting the European Parliament, may decide to postpone the election period up to two months earlier or one month later if it proves impossible to hold the elections within a regular period. The decision of the Council must be taken at least one year before the term of office of the elected Parliament begins, i.e. by the end of June of the year preceding the election.
