10.1.2024 | Finland will hold its presidential election on Sunday 28 January 2024. In the election, Finnish citizens entitled to vote will elect the President of the Republic for a term of six years. The candidates stand for election in the entire country.

8.2.2024 | The second round of the presidential election will take place on Sunday 11 February 2024. Polling stations will be open from 9.00 to 20.00. Preliminary results will be published on the evening of the election starting at 20.00.

15.1.2024 | Advance voting in the 2024 presidential election will be conducted from 17 to 23 January 2024 in Finland and from 17 to 20 January 2024 abroad. The election day is Sunday 28 January 2024. 

15.12.2023 | The Digital and Population Data Services Agency has started sending out polling cards (notices of right to vote) for the 2024 presidential election. A polling card will be sent to each eligible voter either by post or via Suomi.fi Web Service in December or early January. All polling cards will be sent out by 4 January 2024.

21.12.2023 | The constituency electoral committee of Helsinki has confirmed the nomination of candidates for the election of the President of the Republic in 2024. Information about the candidates is available in the Information and Result Service on the Electionsfinland.fi website.

30.1.2024 | A second round will be conducted in the presidential election as none of the candidates received more than half of the votes in the first round. The candidates in the second round are Alexander Stubb representing the National Coalition Party with candidate number 8 and Pekka Haavisto representing a constituency association with candidate number 10. The candidate numbers are the same as in the first round. 

6.11.2023 | The addresses and opening hours of the general advance polling stations for the presidential election to be held in January 2024 are now available on the elections website of the Ministry of Justice, Electionsfinland.fi. The list includes information on all advance polling stations located both in Finland and abroad.
